New Year's Resolution: Become financially literate!
One of Mosinee DECA's key initiatives in the community is to connect with community members of all ages and improve financial literacy. The chapter started with educating middle school students during summer school where they created their video for the AbbyBank contest with the help of 4-6th grade students and Mosinee DECA president, Erik Jass.
The club is continuing their, "New Year's Resolution Financial Education Campaign" with various activities heading into the new year including a four bank system project with elementary students, a poster contest with with middle school students, and various outreach events with high school students and adults. Each event and activity will be coordinated with area financial institutions.

Students Helped with Summer School Business & Financial Literacy
DECA officers helped with a summer school business class by being "sharks" from Shark Tank. Students presented their products and services sharing what they've learned. Students also helped with the financial literacy class. With the help of the summer school students, DECA officers gained the footage to create an amazing financial literacy video for this year's contest! It is now on Facebook. Vote for it and help Mosinee DECA win $1000 from AbbyBank! Mosinee DECA will also be offering other Financial Literacy opportunities as we go into the new year! http://bit.ly/19XMK3v

HELP PTO HELP STUDENTS
The Mosinee PTO has been an ongoing supporter of student academics and co-curricular activities supporting all three schools: Mosinee Elementary, Mosinee Middle School, and Mosinee High School. They have provided financial support to organizations for travel to leadership seminars, academic competitions and summer enrichment programs. Mosinee DECA has received support from this organization and wants to help every student get these opportunities.
There are many ways in which the PTO provides services and materials. One way is through the collection of box tops and milk caps. Mosinee DECA is a collection site for such items. If you have box tops, you can drop them off in room 630 or the MoTown Market.
Also, watch for other ways that you can help with PTO events including: Fundraiser Delivery, the Sock Hop, Green and Gold Night, and more!
